This album is just incredible and of a rare beauty. The musics of Ôkami kodomo no Ame to Yuki (movie released in July 2012) are mainly both lyrical and beautiful, and occasionally both sad and suspenseful. In fact, each time I listen to it, I'm getting emotional; such a powerful experience!
Containing 24 tracks of quality, this OST is composed by TAKAGI Masakatsu (Bakemono no ko) and entirely played by acoustic intruments (primarily by piano).
We note that TAKAGI Masakatsu also sings (hums) on several tracks (n°1-3-5-7-9-18-19-22). Although his voice is not exceptional, matched with his own compositions, it can touch our hearts. The track n°5, "Soratsutsumi", is sung by SHIRAISHI Tamami; and "Nene" (n°7) by SATO Mikawo.
Note as well that "Tanememi" (n°11) is played by Choro Club, group formed by SASAGO Shigeharu (guitar), AKIOKA Oh (bandolim) and SAWADA Jyoji (contrabass), best known for his compositions of the anime "Aria" (Aria The Natural, Aria the Animation, Aria the Origination).
Personally, I really like the entire OST. It actually is one of the few albums that I can listen to over and over again, without ever getting tired of it. Therefore, I strongly recommend it to you.
My favorite tracks are: "Oyosute aina" (n°9), "Kitokito-yon hon ashi no odori" (n°12), "Meagari no ie" (n°23). Watch out this last symphonic version is so wonderful that it will be hard to not cry. Intense emotions guaranteed!
